Internships & Volunteers
Looking for work experience in the tourism industry? We have internship and volunteer opportunities for bright, dedicated people looking to stay a minimum of 8 weeks up to 6 months. Accommodation arrangements can be made for international or out of town applicants. Send us your application in advance for:
Guesthouse Host. The broadest experience for longer stays including Reception, Promotions, Marketing and Housekeeping.
Guest Services. Assist with all aspects of servicing guests including check-ins, tours, answering questions, transport promoter, cleaning and running errands (summer only).
Work for Stay - FREE Accommodation
Need a cool place to stay while traveling? The Painted Turtle Guesthouse has work-for-stay jobs year round for ambitious travelers looking to stay a minimum of 7 nights. Apply in person for the following jobs in exchange for FREE accommodation:
Building maintenance. Help out with painting, detail cleaning and small repairs.
Housekeeping. Assist with cleaning, laundry service, recycling and making beds. Full job description here
Transport Promoter. Get on a bike and promote the Painted Turtle Guesthouse to travelers disembarking ferries, buses and floatplanes (summer only).
Employment
Guesthouse Host. Paid full and part-time opportunities including Reception, Sales, Promotions & Marketing and other duties as required to ensure smooth operations of the Guesthouse. Hours will vary Monday-Sunday between 7am-10pm depending on the season and Guesthouse requirements.
Housekeeper Extraordinaire. Part time opportunity including preparing guest rooms, cleaning, laundry and recycling. Hours will vary Monday-Sunday between 9:00am to 3:00pm depending on the season and Guesthouse requirements.
Outside Sales Representative. Commission based. We provide you with the training and tools required to sell the Painted Turtle Guesthouse and its activity partners to niche markets of your choice, including countries, corporations, travel trade and groups. Tell us where you have industry contacts and we’ll tell you how you can partner with us to earn commissions!
